In 1997, Judd Zebersky left his legal practice to found Jazwares, a toy and consumer products company built on three principles: make great products, treat people right, and never stop growing. Without outside capital, Judd traveled extensively across Asia to master manufacturing and build the operational systems necessary for quality product and maximum profitability.
Laura Zebersky joined Jazwares in its early years, rising through licensing, sales, and brand to become President in 2021. Under her leadership, the company expanded into over 100 countries, built partnerships with the world's largest retailers, and managed iconic brands including Squishmallows, Pokémon, and Fortnite.
In 2014, Jazwares partnered with Alleghany Capital to accelerate growth through M&A. The company completed nine strategic acquisitions, including Kelly Toys (Squishmallows). This track record of organic and inorganic growth led to the acquisition of Jazwares by Berkshire Hathaway in 2022.
As we grew, we sought guidance but realized that traditional capital sources had rarely experienced the realities we faced as founders. The most effective solution comes from having lived the problem firsthand. In our nearly 30 years leading Jazwares, we have seen every problem, identified the solutions and maximized our growth. We are strategic, we are operators and we love to help companies build. Strategic capital is rare; true operators as investors are even rarer. That is why we launched Lezah Capital.
Not a fund with a ticking clock. Not a board that second-guesses operators. A true partner who has actually done the work and been in your shoes. We understand what it takes to build a brand, manage a global supply chain, and hold a company together through rapid growth. We are signed up for the long haul.
We couldn't find that. So we built it.
